IFS Psychotherapy

What does IFS psychotherapy mean?

What role do these parts play?

What does this mean for my healing journey?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) psychotherapy is an evidence-based therapeutic approach. It is based on the idea that the mind is made up of different “parts,” each with its own feelings, thoughts, and behaviours.

Our parts all have valuable talents and resources to lend to us, but as we go through life and encounter trauma, they shift from this naturally valuable state into something that can be much more destructive.

It is important to understand that it is not our parts that are damaging, but the burdens they carry. My goal is to help you transform these parts by releasing them of the burdens that have become attached to them

If you're still unsure whether this approach is right for you, try watching this short video by Dr. Richard Schwartz , the founder of IFS therapy. I do also offer an initial video or phone call free of charge if you'd like to chat about your therapy journey.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
